Dominant Hairless Mice

I wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with hairless mice....why? Because I felt bad for them. I assumed they were always cold but I forgot to consider my comfort indoors...if im comfortable they should be as well. My buddy in Tennessee was planning a trip for us to meet up and swap critters (mostly mice) and she made sure I got some dominant hairless. I am so grateful she knew I would love them enough to make sure I acquired some. I am SUCH a fan! They trace back to an importer in Tenn who of course aquired them from over seas. The dominant hairless I have are NOT themselves imported and are very much my own line now so they are technically american lines now. They re so much healthier, sturdier, and more to type than any other mice I have and most have great temperaments!

Depending on what I breed my dominant hairless to, I get more dominant hairless, and I even make a textel (angora x rex cross) like animal out of them with selective breeding the mice seem to also be rex. I have seen a breeder over seas call her one slightly furred dominant hairless mice "werewolves" and I have started doing it as well. Not in anyway to make them sound more special than they are but to differentiate them from my actual fully hairless, and my fuzzies.

I have seen NO health issues so far in my dom hairless line...I have outcrossed a lot however.

I cannot always tell what color or pattern my dominant hairless they are but I do generally have a good idea or a good guestimation.

They do tend to require more protein in order to breed.
